While your new lender might propose a solicitor, they predominantly represent the lender. It’s prudent to have your own legal representative to champion your interests during the remortgage.
Every transaction is unique, but typically, a remortgage takes 3-4 weeks. We strive to expedite your process.
Rest assured, you’ll be informed throughout. Should you have any queries, your conveyancer remains accessible via phone, email or in person at all times.
Upon determining a completion date, we’ll send a completion statement and ascertain if additional funds are required. We’ll also retrieve your existing account’s redemption figure. Any requisite funds should reach us at least a day before the set date.
During some remortgages, a “Transfer of Equity” is vital when property owners and new mortgage names don’t match. This process essentially involves adding or removing a name from the title deed.
Once completed, your transaction gets registered with the Land Registry, who maintains copies of vital documents. We’ll share the final Land Registry details and any original deeds.
